I put my picture around the center of my testimonial as a representation of the chaos of life that a lot of us experience when trying to finish nursing school or get to the NCLEX exam on the other side of passing.
For the past three years, five letters (NCLEX) sent my emotions into a frenzy,  as my determination to pass was always tampered by one life issue after the next. I struggled most days to make it to point A and point B. I lack the mindset that there would always be chaos and it wasn’t about getting to these points but figuring out how my goals fit into the middle.
I think that meeting Ms. Mo helped solidify what I knew I had to do.  My first call to Rophem Nursing and talking to Ms. Mo was the push I needed to get me to where I needed to be.

Last year, in 2019, sometime in March, I had called several people from the list that the board of nursing had given me for remediation.  I was about to give up on hearing from anyone about taking a remedial course. I called Rophem. Ms. Mo answered. Her voice was upbeat and welcoming, and she expressed the determination and motivation I needed to help me get through this middle area of life. I went to St. Petersburg for my clinicals in September of 2019 while I was finishing up the online course through Rophem. I met another wonderful instructor, Mrs. Claire M., and my awesome group of classmates.  And enjoyed some of the sites and food of St. Petersburg with my parents. When I got home, I went ahead and did Ms. Mo’s online review. And life didn’t seem to ease up on me anywhere in the middle of all of these, but I was determined, and I understood it took hard work to get through the content and make the information make sense. So, I write this “middle” and “chaos” in general terms because every nursing student has gone through some issue that has created a lag in the plan from point A to point B.  But no matter where I was in this “middle” and “chaos,” Ms. Mo talked on the phone with me, emailed me and coached me as if not a day had passed since the last time we met and talked.

I’m so grateful that I was able to be part of the Rophem Remedial Course and I’m thankful that I was able to receive my RN this past Wednesday in the middle of a pandemic and in the wake of Hurricane Sally.  But I did it, and I received so much help from Rophem.  – Grace W. RN
