Complications of Cirrhosis

One of the complications of cirrhosis is Hepatic Encephalopathy. This is a neurological problem resulting from too much ammonia in the blood. Medications for the treatment of Hepatic Encephalopathy include Lactulose and Neomycin.

    Keeping the ammonia level as low by administering medications as ordered and modifying the diet.

    Identifying the factors that triggers and make the disease worse.

    Eat a low protein diet, no alcohol or foods that contain alcohol.
    Take medications prescribe by doctor
